Here we have 2 lots of construction rules the first is our club rules and secondly is the full BRCA rules for bangers as start to race different classes so i wil add more race/ construction rules.

Banger Construction Rules 2006 BODYSHELLS.
Only approved banger bodyshells are permitted, approval of any other bodyshell not listed below can only be used with the permission of the club promoter .

Rolls Royce.
Wolseley 6/110 Saloon/Hearse.
MG Magnette(15/50).
Austin Westminster A110/A55 Bubble.
Rover P4.
Rover P5 Saloon/Coupe/Minster/Hearse.
Rover P6 Saloon/V8/Estate V8.
Daimlar Majestic Major Saloon/Limo.
Bentley Continental Coupe.
Mk1 Granada Coupe/Saloon/Limo.
Mk2 Granada Saloon/Estate/Hearse/Limo.
Jaguar XJ6/Limo/Mk2/Mk10/420G.
Oldsmobile Magnum.
'61Chevy Impala.
'69Dodge Charger Saloon/Hearse.
Datsun 240z/260z.
FX4 Taxi/Hearse.
Mk1 Capri.
Ds420 hearse.

VAN BANGERS.
Morris Minor Van.
HA/HA Viva Van.
Transit.
Sherpa.

ALL FORD BANGERS.
Theses can only e used in the All Ford Bangers 1600 meetings.
Any Escort (not van).
Sierra.
Mondeo.
Capri (must have arches removed).
Short Wheelbase Anglia (Must use a short v12 chassis).

ROOF FINS.
These must be fitted to the roof of the car & must not have any sharp edges & must have the drivers number clearly visible on both sides.

NAMES.
Drivers Name & Number must be on both sides of the car.
Or drivers name may be above the front windscreen line.

ROOF GRADINGS.
These will be updated every two months, please telephone or email if you are not sure which grade you are. All cars must display the correct roof grade with a minimum of a 2" stripe.
Any car not displaying the correct roof grade will start from the back of the grid.

BUMPERS.
These are not permitted, however in the interest of servo protection, aluminum bumper plate is allowed but must be covred in foam, available from spares shop.
These will not be allowed in the 2007 season.

STRENGHTENING & REPAIRS.
You may use glue sticks, tape, cable ties anywhere inside the bodyshell only, you cannot cover the out side of the shell in tape of any kind. Plastic joining plates/dorr plate in conjunction with nuts & bolts as to their real counter parts. Plastic weld is also approved.
Neither armouring or the use of mastic is allowed.

MASCOTS.
These are not allowed neither are bolt on engines.

WINDOWS.
These must be completely removed as close to the original car as possible.

FINAL PREPARATION.
The external painting of the car must be neatly finnished with no rude or offensive slogans or gestures.

CHASSIS.
These must be as per the standard kit item with the following limitations.
If left to the original kit length, the chssis must be used with a bodyshell that fits it's size properly.
If a shorter wheelbase shell is used for i.e. all Ford bangers/Pre'68/Pre'70 meetings then a shorter v12 alaminium chassis maybe used.
Limousine chassis must be the same thickness as the alley v12 chassis (Maximum 3mm)& must have the correct bodyshell to fit, maximum length of the Limousine is 2 1/2' with bodyshell & any limousine entred must represent a full size counterpart.













BODYMOUNTS.
You may use 2/3 or 4 mounts, no more no less. These maybe made of any material, not exceeding 10mm in width & must not protrude more than 10mm through the bodyshell.

SPEED CONTROLLER.
Mechanical & resistor type only, No electronic speed controllers (ESC).

SERVO SAVER.
Any type permitted.

BALL RACES.
These may only be used on the rear axle only.

PINIONS & SPUR GEARS.
32dp gears, only standard Mardave v12 permitted, either 46 tooth or 50 tooth to be used.

MOTORS.
Only standard Mardave kit 540 (G1) or Mardave SH(G2)can be used. Motor cooling heatsinks & cleaning/additives are permitted.

WHEELS & TYRES.
Foam tyres only to be used. No tyre additives permitted. Any after market wheel maybe used but must be of the same diameter as per Mardave kit V12 or R12 wheels. This also incluedes alloy wheels.

BATTERIES.
Only sub C Nicads & Ni-mh cells permitted, maximum capacity 4200mah & must be covred in heat shrink & have the manufacturers covering with identification clearly visible.

TRANSPONDERS.
These must be mounted on the inside of the car/chassis via a non metalic bracket. No exceptions.

Banger Construction Rules
1) Use the Hot Rod (V12) chassis or Mini or Rebel, as supplied in the kit; alternatively one made from GRP (max 2mm thickness) may be used. Dimensions are, maximum length 270mm, width 90mm, no additional strengthening allowed. All chassis must have the corners rounded to prevent damage to carpet or persons.
2) Only V12, Mini, Rebel parts may be used in construction exceptions are:
a) Track rods and servo savers maybe upgraded.
b) Pinion/Spur gears to be 32 dp.
c) Ball Races may be fitted to rear axle assembly only.
d) Electronic speed controller are not permitted, any manual speedboard operated by a wiper arm can be used.
e) Tyres, only foam type may be used.
3) Cells, only 4-cell sub C rated cells.
4) Body shells
a) Body shells to be of ABS moulding.   Windows must be completely removed as per the original car. If moulding has window outlines then these have to be used: No portholes or half windows.
b) Example of body shells that could be used: Rolls Royce, Wolseley 6/110, Wolseley 15/50, Wolseley Hearse, MG Magnet, Austin A60, Rover P5, Granada Coupe, Jaguar, Oldsmobile, Magnum, Daimler Majestic, Ford Granada, Ford Capri. (This is not an exhaustive list).
c) Roof fins may be fitted, no further forward than the middle of the roof, no more than 2 fins allowed plastic only.   Fins to no more than 1” high x 1” wide, no metal fins allowed, they must not possess any sharp edges, and must have the drivers racing number on both sides of the fin.   No wings or aero-foil’s allowed.
d) Strengthening & Repairs are allowed, you may use glue sticks, tape, cable ties, joining plates may be used (metal plates not allowed) in conjunction with nuts and bolts, no screws allowed.   All sharp edges must be filed, and any protrusions must be on inside of the body shell.
e) Name and Number of the driver must be clearly visible on both sides of the body shell at all times.
f) Body shell preparation should be neatly presented, no unsightly rude or offensive slogans, gestures are allowed.
g) Body mounts - you may use 3 or 4 mounts, made from plastic no more than 10mm in diameter and must not protrude more than 10mm through the body shell.   All body clips must be flush with the body shell, there must be at least 1cm (10mm) clearance between shell and chassis front and rear of the car.
h) Roof grade markings must cover the whole of the roof area.
5) No internal or external bumpers are allowed.
6) No additional ballast allowed on the car.
7) Transponder must be fixed onto the car and not the body shell.
8) Additives - only motor cleaning fluids is allowed.   Under no circumstances are tyre additives allowed (instant disqualification for one calendar year if found to be using any).
9) Motors to be used as per Stockcar Class.
10) Limos - Maximum width 90mm, length to suit body shell providing the chassis does not protrude beyond the wheels.   All other rules apply the same.

Warning, if it’s not in the rules then it is not legal, always check with Race Directory before you do it!
All cars must line up 2 abreast in grade order, white (front row) then yellow, blue, red and star grades.
Once the computer starts to countdown, cars must not move, jump start or be interfered with in anyway.
See penalty list.  
Any car without the correct roof grade will start at the back of the grid.
The SORC Committee will deal with constant offending discreetly. No cars are to be marshalled under normal racing, but may be marshalled for the following reasons:

Any car loosing it's bodyshell must be removed from the track and not returned.

Any car in risk of burning out during the race must be unplugged and remain on the track. Racing is in a clockwise direction.
Driving in the opposite direction is not allowed.
Head-on contact is only permitted on the bend where you are waiting or the back straight (not the start straight).      
Any driver/car deliberately driving across the start/finish line the wrong way, will have their cars removed & will loose any points from all three heats. See Penalties.

Any car that goes over the outer wall cannot be returned to the race.
Any car that comes to rest in a corner, or the centre can only continue if unaided. It is the responsibility of all drivers to ensure that their radio equipment does not cause interference with other competitors.

External power sources for transmitters are not permitted.
Only government approved 27mhz & 40mhz crystals can be used. You must provide 3 - 27mhz or 3 - 40mhz crystals when booking in at our meetings.

Transmitters must not be taken onto the track or near the lap counting equipment at any time.

THIS INCLUDES MOBILE PHONES !
Unauthorised use of a transmitter will result in disqualification from the meeting.

Crystal changes can only be made if approved by the Race Director. All cars must conform to the Construction Rules and may be checked at any time during the race meeting.
Any car not conforming will loose any points gained & will not be allowed to race until rectified. Only one car may be entered per driver, no car swapping or using other drivers cars allowed.

Only one bodyshell can be entered per meeting, you may only use a different bodyshell in the destruction derby as long as it conforms to the bodyshell rules. Protests of any kind may be made to the Race Director.

The Race Director may correct any discrepancies without protest being made.
The Clubs Official's decision is FINAL !

The Race Officials will penalise drivers for the following offence:
Deliberate jump-starting
Continuous driving in the opposite direction on the home straight.

1st Offence - verbal warning
2nd Offence - verbal warning
3rd Offence - verbal warning

After three verbal warnings all heat points will be removed from offending driver & will not be allowed to race in the final.

Unnecessary shouting at drivers/officials, threatening & bad behaviour & use of transmitter/testing car in the pits/car park while other races are on, unless cleared to do so by race control.

1st offence - verbal warning
2nd offence - loss of points on the night & disqualification from the meeting.
3rd offence - may lead to a ban at the committee's discretion.
The SORC committee will deal with any other offences discreetly.
